Laser Hair Removal Aftercare

Proper aftercare is important to help your skin heal quickly and achieve the best possible results from your laser hair removal treatment.

At Lume Laser Studio, we use advanced Candela GentleMax Pro technology, which minimizes irritation and allows most clients to return to normal activities shortly after treatment.

Smooth Skin, Always

Expect Mild Redness

Avoid Heat and Sweating

Expect Mild Redness

It is normal to experience slight redness or mild swelling in the treated area for a few hours after treatment. This is a normal response and usually resolves quickly.

Applying a cool compress may help soothe the skin.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Avoid Heat and Sweating

Expect Mild Redness

Protect the treated area from sun exposure for at least 1–2 weeks after treatment.

If the area is exposed to sunlight, apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to prevent irritation or pigmentation changes.

Do Not Wax or Pluck Hair

For the first 24–48 hours, avoid activities that may irritate the skin such as:

  • hot      showers or baths
  • saunas      or steam rooms
  • intense      exercise
  • hot      tubs

These can increase skin sensitivity.

Do Not Wax or Pluck Hair

Avoid Harsh Skin Products

Do Not Wax or Pluck Hair

After treatment, the hair will begin to shed naturally over the next 1–2 weeks.

Avoid:

  • waxing
  • tweezing
  • threading

Shaving is allowed if necessary.

Avoid Harsh Skin Products

Avoid Harsh Skin Products

Avoid Harsh Skin Products

For 48 hours after treatment, avoid products that may irritate the skin, including:

  • retinol
  • exfoliating      acids (AHA/BHA)
  • chemical      peels

Use gentle skincare products until the skin has fully recovered.

Keep Skin Hydrated

Avoid Harsh Skin Products

Moisturizing the treated area helps support the healing process.

Choose gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers to keep the skin comfortable.

Hair Shedding Is Normal

Follow Your Treatment Schedule

Follow Your Treatment Schedule

You may notice hairs appearing to grow after treatment, but this is actually the shedding phase. The treated hairs will gradually fall out over the following 1–2 weeks.

This is a normal part of the laser hair removal process.

Follow Your Treatment Schedule

Laser hair removal works best when treatments follow the recommended schedule, typically every 4–6 weeks depending on the treatment area.
